We are excited to announce the upcoming Chess Tournament organized by the Sports & Cultural Sub Committee of AID! This thrilling competition is set to bring together minds from different industries for a day of intense strategic gameplay. Whether you’re a chess veteran or a novice, this event offers a platform to sharpen your skills and enjoy the game we all love.

Event Details:

  • Date: 11th July 2025, Friday
  • Time: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Venue: Association of Industries Dewas (AID)
  • Entry Fees: Absolutely Free!
  • Last Date for Registration: 5th July 2025, Saturday

Tournament Guidelines:

  1. Be Punctual: All participants must arrive at the AID office by 9:30 AM on the day of the event.
  2. Multiple Participants per Industry: Your company can send as many participants as you like. It’s a great chance to represent your industry!
  3. Minimum Participants: The tournament will require at least 20 participants to proceed, so gather your colleagues and friends to join in.
  4. AID Members Only: Only registered members of AID are eligible to participate. Registration must be done using the official company email.
  5. Time Management: A stopwatch app can be used for time control during matches.
  6. Chess Boards Provided: You don’t need to worry about bringing your own chessboard — the organizers will supply them.
  7. Knockout Format: The tournament follows a knockout format. Once a match is lost, the player is eliminated.
  8. Game Duration: Each game will have a 15-minute time limit for each player.
  9. Time Violation: Exceeding the allotted time results in an automatic loss.
  10. Swiss System: The tournament will use the Swiss System, pairing players based on their current score.
  11. Touch and Move Rule: Remember: once you touch a piece, you must move it.
  12. Winning Criteria: A game can be won by:
    • Checkmate
    • Opponent runs out of time
    • Opponent resigns
  13. Draw Conditions: A game will be a draw if:
    • A stalemate occurs
    • A player has insufficient mating material and their opponent runs out of time
  14. Disqualification for Violations: Any player found violating tournament rules may be disqualified.
  15. Final Decision: The tournament director holds the final authority on all matters and disputes.
